Hi There,

I'm Kahaia from Moorea, French Polynesia. After growing as a simple island girl in my dads Wood Sculpting Workshop I acquired a sense of using art in everything I did. I loved it so much that I decided to study it :)

Soon after College where I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Design in South of France. I came back to Tahiti in 2008 and started my Artistic Jewelry Brand as Pineapple Culture.

Why Pineapple Culture ?

Must you ask :)
Well, I originate from Moorea, famous for it's lagoons and beautiful mountains but also known to be the Pineapple Island (most of French Polynesias Pineapples come from). The name reflects an personal identity check where the locals easily relate to it as well.

Another reason is that the first few years into the business I moved to Hawaii (the Pineapple State) where I developed most of my jewellery making skills and from where my brand took off!
So naturally, when I decided to Brand it as an exclusively Handcrafted Jewelry, Pineapple Culture came straight up in my mind :)

You: Yes, But WHY name it Pineapple Culture ?
Me: The essence of Pineapple Culture is a tropical way of living in a growing modern society. Yes I am from the islands, but traveling around the world gave me a sense of modernisation and a taste for constant improvement in designs, quality, colours, textures... being this girl from the islands, I will keep coming back for that Polynesian touch.
My goal is to give the modern Vahine tools to also improve in that way. Wearing the artefacts is one part of it, but the secret is in the energy that they carry. I believe that there is energy in anything, and each Handmadepiece in no exception.
